Perhaps one of the most famous publishing buildings in the world, Cond� Nast has always held a position of fairy-like mystique for those of us who are not privy to what goes on inside its perfectly painted walls. I'm sure many of us would love to be a fly on the wall and observe a day in the life of Anna Wintour, but�Kelly Florio Kasouf's new book might just be the next best thing.
Daughter of the late Steve Florio, the former president and CEO of Cond� Nast, Kasouf is picking up where her father left off. WWD reports that before he passed away, Florio was in the middle of writing a book. As a tribute to his work, Kasouf wrote her own take on the many years she spent inside the iconic Cond� building.
The tome is titled The Super Adventures of Sophie and the City: All in a Day's Work and tells the story of a little girl who spends the day wandering through her father's office building visiting various magazine worlds. None of the publications are directly named, but all are recognizable: Vogue, Brides, Vanity Fair and Cond� Nast Traveler are all included. Even Andr� Leon Talley makes a cameo.
We're loving the idea of turning Cond� Nast into the theme of a children's book, a must-read for any pint-sized budding fashionista. Since Kasouf had her first "one-on-one lunch" with Anna Wintour at the tender age of ten, it's no wonder that she connects 4 Times Square with memories of her childhood.
Eloise might have Weenie, Nanny,�Skipperdee, and the Plaza Hotel, but nothing can top letting your imagination run wild up and down the floors of Cond� Nast. The book will be sold exclusively at Barneys, but you can pre-order your copy on the Barneys website. Will you be grabbing a copy once the pages hit stores?

Bernie Madoff and his wife Ruth decided to kill themselves rather than face reality after his multi-billion Ponzi scheme was made public, according to reports.
They attempted suicide together the Christmas Eve after Bernie was exposed.
The revelation comes in a new CBS News interview with Ruth Madoff, the only interview she has given about her shady husband’s infamous crimes.
“I don’t know whose idea it was, but we decided to kill ourselves because it was just so horrendous,” Ruth Madoff tells 60 Minutes. “We had terrible phone calls. Hate mail, just beyond anything and I said, 'I just can’t go on anymore.’”
The Madoffs attempted to overdose on pills: Ambien and possibly Klonopin.
“I took what we had, he took more. That added to the depression. We took pills and woke up the next day. It was very impulsive and I am glad we woke up.”
One of their sons followed through on it. The 60 Minutes piece also includes an interview with surviving son Andrew Madoff, but Mark Madoff hanged himself in his Manhattan apartment on December 11, 2010, while his 2-year-old son slept.
Stephanie Mack, Mark Madoff's widow, wrote a book herself - The End of Normal: A Wife's Anguish, A Widow's New Life. Mack said her late husband previously attempted suicide by swallowing 60 anti-anxiety and sleeping pills.
Bernie Madoff is serving a 150-year prison term in North Carolina.
Portions of the interview will aired Wednesday on the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley and will be seen in its entirety on 60 Minutes this Sunday.

>> Designers are clocking an increased demand for the high-end side of ready-to-wear - demi-couture, as it's called. Mary Katrantzou's Jewel Tree dress, left, which required four studios putting in more than 150 hours to make, caused one seamstress to cry, and retails at $14,200, sold 18 units this Fall. Matthew Williamson president Joseph Velosa reports: "Pieces over $5,000 now account for six percent of our business. To put that into context, two years ago we sold nothing at that price." And Azzedine Alaia joined the couture schedule in July, showing what he called "semi-couture" - pieces which could be purchased as-is - to much acclaim.
Although these clothes have price tags that run mid-four to five figures, they are sold off the rack through the typical retail channels, rather than involving the time commitment of multiple atelier fittings like a couture piece does. Katrantzou's Jewel Tree dress, for instance, is currently available on Net-a-Porter and can be delivered next day.
Jason Wu, who has a houndstooth tweed overcoat with gold bullion embroidery for $15,000 and started using Paris ateliers like Lesage and Lemarie a few seasons ago, says: "Between all the designer collaborations and everything that's going on, we need to give people a reason to buy. There are some things that just can't be done for cheaper."
And Prabal Gurung, who is selling a hand-painted organza and braided chiffon gown for $15,000, adds: "There's a customer who wants this stuff, but it's like one in each city. You hope to sell a lot, but five total is great."

Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan of the NBA's LA Lakers and VH1's Basketball Wives fame, respectively, have announced their split. They had a nice run together, mostly.
After calling off their engagement last year, but convincing the public they're still a couple, the two confirmed the breakup we ALL knew was coming this week.
Matt emailed out a statement today about the split from Gloria Govan (sister of Gilbert Arenas baby mana/Shaq mistress Laura Govan), saying the following:
“I’d like to address rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship. We've reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.”
Gloria just tweeted her statement saying:
"I'm sure you guys are hearing a ton of buzz about Matt and Me breaking up, sorry to say... its true!!!!!! But the most important thing is focusing on my kids and continuing to have a good relationship with their father, thanks for your support!!!"
A heated Twitter exchange this month between Matt and a fan - who suggested Barnes should Govan or else someone else will - was a bad sign.
Responded Barnes: "He can have her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Classy. Meanwhile, she Tweeted Saturday: "If someone is dumb enough to walk away, be smart enough to let them go. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you."

What you'll need: Scissors 2 ft x 6 inches gold fabric White button up shirt Fabric glue Pen Paint brush Step 1 - Unbutton your collared shirt and lay it flat on top of your gold fabric. Step 2 - leaving about an 1.5 inches from the edge, loosely trace around the collar. Step 3 - Cut out the gold fabric that will be used as your collar. Step 4 - Use a paint brush to evenly distribute the glue onto the side of your collar that will be visible when worn. Step 5 - Place your fabric onto the collar and press down to make sure the fabric is not bumpy. Let dry for 10 minutes.
