Jon Gosselin Tries, Fails to Stop Kate Plus 8 Australian Adventure

Jon Gosselin really doesn't want his kids on TV anymore.

Some have questioned his motives, but he seems intent on living a normal life these days and for his eight offspring to experience the same thing.

That said, he went to court to stop Kate Gosselin from dragging them to Australia, but was denied by a judge because the excursion is work related.

K to tha GJon Yelling

Once again, Jon and Kate don't see eye to eye.

The same judge allowed Kate Gosselin to film her spin-off reality TV show, Kate Plus 8, on TLC in the first place, despite vehement objections by Jon.

“This was yet another slap in the face for Jon because he did not want the kids to go to Australia," a source close to Jon Gosselin told Radar Online.

“But the judge ruled that because it was for work it was okay. Jon had plans with the kids. Now he won't see them until they return in mid-January."

"He was scheduled to have them this weekend, but there was nothing he could do as the decision was taken out of his hands by the judge."

“Kate told Jon about the trip, and when he did not agree it was decided that the judge should intervene and the ruling went in her favor."

“He is trying to put a brave face on and has explained the situation to his own family and friends, but this is a big disappointment for him."

“But if nothing else, they all respect him for trying to stand up to Kate and for fighting for what he thinks is right for his kids as well.”

Fresh off goin' camping with Sarah Palin in Alaska, Kate flew to Australia with her eight kids, plus body guard Steve Nield, on Tuesday.

The Gosselin crew will also visit New Zealand, and during the excursion they will shoot tons of footage for future episodes of Kate Plus 8.

As for Jon's plans tonight?

“It is most likely that he will be staying in Pennsylvania to be with his girlfriend Ellen Ross plus family and friends as they ring in 2011."

Sounds normal at least.

New Year's Eve Outfit Ideas: Putting On The Glitz

New Year's Eve Outfit Ideas: Putting On The Glitz

If there's one night of the year to pull out all of the stops, it's New Year's Eve. I love wearing sparkles and sequins as much as the next girl, but honestly, I feel like they should be reserved for two occasions: Birthdays and New Year's Eve. Luckily, the latter is a mere two nights away, so trust that I will be breaking out one of the few glittery garments in my closet to help celebrate! Since New Year's is such a hyped-up holiday, it's easy to go a little overboard with the glitz, so we're here to help ?…

Michelle Obama Christmas Style Watch

The holiday season is alive in the capital city and First Lady Michelle Obama has been making the official rounds and looking fabulous while doing so. Michelle and President Obama kept family close these past few days, proving that togetherness really is the most important part of the holidays!

The First Family battled cold weather with style when lighting the National Christmas Tree. Michelle -- wearing a fitted black and gold embroidered coat by Narciso Rodriguez -- showed women everywhere that dressing for winter doesn't have to mean stuffy and bulky. We'll never know if it was by accident, but Michelle and the President matched accessories, both in red scarves and black leather gloves.

What a festive First Family! The gorgeous family came together with a few special friends for the 'Christmas in Washington' celebration and concert at the National Building Museum. As usual, Michelle Obama wowed, standing out in a black lace, square neck dress with a full skirt. Her large sparkly earrings and patent pumps perfectly complimented her elegant, ballerina inspired look. Style clearly runs in the family, as Michelle's mother Marian Robinson looked equally fabulous in her olive Leafy Lace dress by Talbots. The first daughters Sasha and Malia, showed off their growing fashion sense as well. 'Christmas in Washington' will air on TNT on Sunday, December 19th, at 8pm EST.

The First Lady joined the President at Harriet Tubman Elementary for the signing of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, a bill she helped champion. For the event, Michelle chose a figure flattering gray scoop neck dress that she accessorized with a large Lucite flower pin. She kept her look modern and weather appropriate by adding camel-colored boots to the knee.

Mrs. Obama brought family dog Bo and St. Nick with her as she continued the White House tradition of reading 'The Night Before Christmas' at the Children's National Medical Center. While Bo opted for a tuxedo and Santa for his suit, Michelle kept it classic in a Sparklegate Cardigan from J.Crew, black trousers and a knit turtleneck.

BV's Holiday Party Style Guide

Party season is upon us, and besides the hassle of what to get your secret Santa, your biggest dilemma is what to wear. Maybe you're going to the company party and want to be appropriate, but still show your flare for style. Or maybe you want to go for full on glam for a night out with your girls. Whatever your style and whatever your budget, Black Voices has you covered with head to toe outfit ideas for every occasion.

If your party consists of a night with friends and you want to go all out, glam it up in a bold pattern or color. An over the top dress means keeping the rest of your look simple and clean. Classic patent black pumps and dainty accessories are all you need.

1) Desperately Sequin Susan Dress ($90, fredflare.com), 2) Hue Super-Opaque Control Top Tights ($12.50, dillards.com), 3) Sexy Patent Pumps ($24.80, forever21.com), 4) Tinley Road Cream Flower Stud Earring ($24, piperlime.com)

A little black dress is always a classy option for a more toned down, elegant look (i.e. office party, meeting the parents, etc). Jazz up the outfit with a bold hued shoe and statement accessories. If cash is tight, one simple LBD can be reworked numerous ways to create a new look each time.

1) One Shoulder Bra Top Dress ($48, victoriassecret.com), 2) Vince Camuto Rues Pumps ($68.60, macys.com), 3) Erica Lyons Frontal Statement Necklace ($45, dillards.com), 4) Hammered Metal Bangles ($19.90, express.com)

If your style's more casual or the thought of braving the chilly temps in a skirt isn't your idea of fun, opt for a slim fit pant and festive blouse. The casual chic look is functional and each piece can easily be worked into your wardrobe long after the holiday season is over.

1) Studio Stretch Seam-Back Skinny Leg Pant ($29.99, express.com), 2) Asos Gathered Sleeve Blouse ($33.62, asos.com), 3) Sam Edelman "Novato" Glitter Pump ($99, dillards.com), 4) Structured Rhinestone Earrings ($6.80, forever21.com), 5) Black Stone and Filigree Ring ($22, guess.com)
