How To Create A Luxury Bedroom... On A Budget!

Filed under:

The definition of luxury means "a condition of abundance and comfort: a sumptuous environment, indulgence and elegance." Who doesn't want that in their life?! And what better place to feel comfort and indulgence than in your bedroom?

Luxury, however, can come with a hefty price tag. Here are some budget-friendly finds that can transform your bedroom into the luxurious retreat that you've always dreamt of!

BED
The bed is the focal point in the room, so it should be your starting point. A great way to enhance your bed and make it the crown jewel is to do just that - give it a crown! A headboard, that is. An upholstered headboard will bring texture into your design with rich velvets, chenilles and leather fabrics.

TIP: Remember to think big! An oversized headboard will add grandeur to your room and give you a bed that's fit for a queen (and a king, too!). Take a look at this great find!

AREA RUG
Luxury is in the textures, so why not sink your feet in it? Place an area rug under the foot of the bed. This is a great way to add another layer of texture, but also an opportunity to bring a pattern to your design for you to build on.

Most would say build off of the patterns in your bedding, but an area rug is a staple piece in the room and will more likely be a bigger investment. So let's décor the room from the ground up! There are many inexpensive area rugs on the market so this should be an easy find. Check out this floral slate rug that I found for $148.00.

Hand-tufted Alexa Pino Collection Floral Slate Rug, $147.99, overstock.com.

LIGHTING
Lighting is extremely important when designing any room, and a sure way to highlight your bedroom is to adorn it with a beautiful crystal chandelier. It adds sparkle and sophistication to the room. This chrome crystal chandelier is a great mix between traditional and modern design. Perfect for any room and at a great price of $200.00.

4-Light Chrome Crystal Chandelier, $199.99, overstock.com.

SEATING
Remember, luxury expresses comfort, so add a comfortable curved-back armchair or chaise lounge in the room or, if space is limited, a tufted bench. Seating in your room gives you a place to relax before bed, read a great book or provide seating for guests to sit while they admire your beautiful bedroom! Here are three great options:

Alyssa Tan Microfiber Nail Head Chair, $232, overstock.com

Avenue Six Curves Collection Chaise Style Bench, $196, halltreeshowroom.com

WINDOW TREATMENT
If there are windows in your bedroom, drape them in beautiful fabric in a color tone that will compliment your design. Add opulence by letting the curtain puddle on the ground. This is definitely a rich, luxurious look. Here's an example for a steal!

West Elm's Velvet Grommet Panels, ranging from $54 to $69, westelm.com.

Complete your design with plush bedding, accent pillows, scented candles and great mirrors and artwork. And don't forget to keep the color palette consistent in all of your pieces. This will give your room a unified look and feel!

Always... Experience Something Beautiful!
